Whats your point of talking to yourself like that?

Listen. The way we have programmed such self hate into our natural voice should (and I'm sure has) be studied.

There is a a way I choose to listen to my clients while they hammer the flaws only they see, in our first few sessions. I get an idea of the work we have to do and I am not speaking of the physical.

Self love/hate is a powerful influence while choosing to start your fitness journey. I think so much emphasis is put on nutrition and movement, that we forget to address the largest elephant in the room.

I want to talk about that elephant, and address her head on. It is hard enough finding a workout regimen, a healthy way of eating, annnd still keeping a life on the side, to then kick your own butt during, before, and after the workout. For the life of me, I don't understand well enough why as a culture, we don't address the self love that has to be developed during your health transition. As professionals, we have dropped the ball in understanding and communicating that with clients, and I want to talk more about it, very candidly actually.

When you begin training your body, your mindset must follow quickly after. Knowing your stresses help you with the sudden need for sweets and pizza we all crave, because... STRESS! It is a universal thing that we all experience but dont fit into the health talk, because it doesn't equate calories or pounds. Your mind is and will be the determining factor on if you wake up, or receive the results you want. It is not just about the kitchen, sadly.

The equation should be 30% physical, 30% nutrition, and 40% mental/spiritual.

I didn't make the rules, I am just learning how to master them.

Next time you are working out, think about the way you talk to yourself. Pay attention to the way you motivate or ridicule yourself. It will effect your journey. You can't see the results mocking yourself. You won't get moving until you recognize what and then why you speak to yourself that way.

I hope you know that someone is cheering you on and wants the best for your mind AND body. They both make the difference in your longevity.
